WASHINGTON, D.C.– Today, Congressman French Hill (AR-02) issued the following statement after opposing a new spending package introduced by House Democrats that failed to include adequate funding for border security: “Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer continue to put federal families at financial risk, especially border patrol officers on the front lines, who are working without pay or are furloughed. The security of Arkansans and Americans comes first which requires proper funding to protect our borders. The House did our part and voted last month to fully fund the government, including funding for Homeland Security and hurricane assistance. It’s time for Democratic leadership to come to the table and negotiate in good faith instead of playing partisan political games.” |
