Hill Applauds Loan Forgiveness Policy for Small Businesses; Victory for Everyday Arkansans
Little Rock, Ark,
October 13, 2020
Today, Rep. French Hill (AR-02) commended U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin and U.S. Small Business Administrator Jovita Carranza for simplifying the loan forgiveness application for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans totaling $50,000 or less.
“On behalf of Arkansas’s small businesses and their workers, I thank Secretary Mnuchin and Administrator Carranza for simplifying the PPP loan forgiveness process. Based on feedback from both lenders and borrowers in central Arkansas, I have taken action for relief for our small businesses by urging a streamlined forgiveness process for loans including joining Congressman Luetkemeyer of Missouri in writing to Secretary Mnuchin and Administrator Carranza, joining with Southern Bancorp CEO Darrin Williams in a recent op-ed, and leading 54 of my colleagues in a letter to Secretary Mnuchin and Administrator Carranza. These actions are a step in the right direction, and I appreciate the commitment of Secretary Mnuchin and Administrator Carranza to Arkansas’s small businesses. I look forward to working with them to find solutions to keep jobs and employers’ doors open during these challenging times.” |
