House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., deserves scrutiny for "her Sunday showmanship" in attempting to stuff the American stimulus bill with Democratic agenda items unrelated to the global coronavirus pandemic, according to Rep. French Hill, R-Ark., to Newsmax TV.

"I am always concerned with every bill I voted on in Congress the past five years," Hill told Monday's "Spicer & Co." "It seems like all of them contain extraneous material that's not germane to the core function. Unfortunately, this one was no exception, and that, of course, driving force was Speaker Pelosi – her sweeping in to throw the whole course of this debate off track.

"And it was concerning to me, because that cost American healthcare workers and people who need this financial support four extra days while we unraveled her Sunday showmanship."

Hill thinks he might still find some more fine print putting American taxpayers on the hook for Pelosi's agenda items.

"I hope that there is not any more surprises in it," Hill told host Sean Spicer.

But Hill also lamented the news the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., has laid off workers after it received $25 million in Pelosi's version – instead of the $1 million from the bipartisan Senate version.

"That just seems unacceptable to the average American," Hill said.
