A four-year-long project to install a solar panel system at the Little Rock Veterans Hospital finally happened earlier this week. 

According to a story from Little Rock television station KATV, Entergy Arkansas approved the plan for the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System at the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital. 

At least three of the four panels were working as of Sunday, while a fourth one had a minor issue with officials working to fix the problem.

Hospital officials said the project has seen some delays, with the work Sunday helping to provide a successful test. However, two members of the state's congressional delegation - Sen. John Boozman, R-AR. and Rep. French Hill, R-Little Rock - have criticized the project, saying it was "not adequately planned or managed," KATV reported.

An inspector general's report also noted the project took four years longer than needed to complete and was $1.5 million over budget.
