RELEASE: CHAIRMAN HILL REACTS TO MICHAEL BARR STEPPING DOWN AS FEDERAL RESERVE VICE CHAIR FOR SUPERVISION

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill (AR-02) today released the following statement after Federal Reserve Vice Chair for Supervision Michael Barr announced his intention to resign from that position but maintain his seat on the Board of Governors.

 

“I was pleased to learn that Michael Barr is stepping down from his role as the Federal Reserve’s top bank regulator. I look forward to working with President Trump’s choice for Fed Vice Chair for Supervision. It’s my preference that his nominee is committed to tailoring bank regulatory policies and implementing a balanced approach to prudential supervision.”
