RELEASE: REP. HILL IS PROTECTING OUR FEDERAL ELECTIONS

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rep. French Hill (AR-02) today released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 8281, Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections.

“Only U.S. citizens are legally allowed to vote in our federal elections – full stop. I was proud to support this bill because it helps safeguard the integrity of our elections around the country, including here in Arkansas. I will continue to support commonsense legislation in Congress that protects the integrity of the most important parts of our democracy.”

H.R. 8281 – Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act: This bill requires each individual to provide proof of U.S. citizenship in order to register to vote in a federal election. Specific to Arkansas, this bill would help Arkansas improve its verification of registered voters.
