June 5, 2024
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rep. French Hill (AR-02) today released the following statement after House Republicans passed the Fiscal Year 2025 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill: “I voted today to support the brave men and women in uniform in central Arkansas and across our nation because they have selflessly sacrificed everything for our country. I am proud to have three veterans on my staff who work tirelessly to ensure our veterans in central Arkansas secure the benefits they were promised and have earned. Our service members here in Arkansas and across America deserve our unwavering support, and I will continue to fight in Congress to take care of our veterans and their families.” Further Background: H.R. 8580 - 2025 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill: This bill provides funding to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (Military Construction and Family Housing) by strengthening our national security, funding veterans care, securing key defense priorities, and more. This bill also secures $70 million for Ebbing Air National Guard Base Academic Training Center construction, along with further funding for the planning and design of future Ebbing projects that would provide additional support for the crucial F-35 Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Training Center at Fort Smith. |
