RELEASE: REP. HILL ANNOUNCES 2023 CENTRAL ARKANSAS CONGRESSIONAL APP CHALLENGE WINNER

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Rep. French Hill (AR-02) announced Freddy Giron from Bryant High School as the winner of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge for Arkansas’s Second Congressional District.
"Every year, I look forward to seeing the creativity of the students from central Arkansas through the Congressional App Challenge. I thank all who participated this year for their hard work and congratulate all of the winners."
This year’s panel of judges included Jay Chesshir (President and CEO, Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce); Thomas Wallace (Web Design and Development/Information Technology Program Coordinator, UALR Information Science Department); and Daniel Schutte (VP, Strategic Partnerships, Venture Center).
First Place:
Freddy Giron – Bryant High School – 10th Grade
Freddy's app helps people who have recently become legal adults gain the knowledge they need. It provides information on credit cards, getting taxes done, how to write a check, and more.
Second Place:
Amrita and Saloni Choudhary – Little Rock Central High School – 10th Grade
Amrita and Saloni's app assists new drivers in getting the tools they need. The app tracks the speed, distance traveled, and the cost of gas per trip for the user.
Third Place:
William Prine – Lisa Academy North – 11th Grade
William's app simulates the effects of different planets on objects of different mass and velocity. Within the app, you can create bodies of different sizes, colors, and speed to see how they react with each other.
Honorable Mention:
Summer Chirpich – Bryant High School – 12th Grade
Summer's app recommends quick recipes for people that do not know what to make with ingredients they already have.
