RELEASE: REP. HILL STATEMENT ON REP. PATRICK MCHENRY'S ANNOUNCEMENT

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. French Hill (AR-02) today released the following statement after Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) announced he will not seek re-election after serving nearly two decades in the U.S. House of Representatives:

“It has been my honor to serve alongside Congressman Patrick McHenry for the past nine years, and I congratulate him on his nearly twenty years of service to the people of North Carolina’s Tenth Congressional District. Under his leadership as Ranking Member and now Chairman, the House Financial Services Committee has advanced legislative priorities in capital formation, digital assets, consumer privacy, and safe and sound banking. And, in his multiple roles in the Republican Conference leadership – including unexpectedly as Speaker Pro Tempore for three weeks in a House with no Speaker – Patrick never once lost focus, his keen sense of humor, and his devotion to the integrity of this institution.

"I am glad to call Patrick my friend and thank him for his years of stewardship, friendship, and service to our nation, and I look forward to continuing our work together in accomplishing the Financial Services Committee’s priorities for the remainder of the 118th Congress.”
