RELEASE: REP. HILL STATEMENT ON HOUSE PASSAGE OF CONTINUING RESOLUTION

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. French Hill (AR-02) released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 6363 - Continuing Appropriations and Other Extensions Act, 2024:

“I supported this bill to keep the lights on and our government open while House Republicans continue negotiations to make sure that common sense, conservative policies are reflected in the final 2024 spending provisions. Although this bill does not include everything I wanted, it led to important negotiations and broke the perpetual 'Christmas omnibus spending bill' and, thus, is a step in the right direction.

"As I pointed out in an editorial on Sunday, the way Congress funds the government is broken and the time to fix it is now because if we as a nation are to be in control of our future, we must be in control of our finances. That is why I have called for serious reforms to ensure our long-term fiscal strength and resilience. I will continue to work with my Republican colleagues to pass our remaining appropriations bills and lock in conservative wins because House Republicans are keeping our promises to the American people.”
