RELEASE: REP. HILL’S AMENDMENT TO EXPAND THE PORT OF LITTLE ROCK INCLUDED IN FAA REAUTHORIZATION
WASHINGTON, D.C.,
July 20, 2023
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. French Hill (AR-02) today released the following statement after voting in support of the Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act, which reauthorizes the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for five years:
“Passenger experience is important to the Americans and tourists who rely heavily on our aviation system to travel around the nation every day, including in and out of Clinton National Airport in Little Rock. With our airlines as key drivers of economic growth, it is critical that the United States remains the global leader in aviation. I am pleased that my amendment to ensure continued oversight of the Little Rock Air Navigation Cone (VOR) project was included - a project that I have pushed forward for nearly a decade. This provision is another step towards enabling the Port of Little Rock the ability to expand its property and bring economic opportunity to the Second Congressional District.”
Further Background:
H.R. 3935 – Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act: This legislation reauthorizes the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for five years. It strengthens our aviation system by growing the aviation workforce, improving passenger experiences, prioritizing safety, and more.
Rep. Hill’s amendment gives the FAA six months to brief the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee on the status of the Little Rock VOR project. |
