WWII Vet Turns 100 on Flag Day; Gets Personal Wishes from Hill, Boozman

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A WWII veteran celebrates his 100th birthday Wednesday surrounded by family and friends.

Jesse Howard Robertson, a native Arkansan, rings in one century of life with his sons, grand kids, and great-grand kids in North Little Rock.

"I want to capture the flavor of his life," Jesse's son, Dan Robertson, said, while displaying pictures and mementos from his father's life.

Dan teared up while talking about his fathers long and accomplished life.

When Jesse was asked to reveal the secret to living so long, he jokingly replied, "You just don't die."

Several people were there to celebrate and bring patriotic gifts. Including an American Flag flown in a ceremony in Washington D.C., a proclamation from the City of North Little Rock stating June 14th is Robertson's day, and personal messages from Representative French Hill, and Senator John Boozman.
