RELEASE: Rep. Hill Statement on Nigeria’s Exclusion from the State Department’s List of CPCs
Washington, DC,
December 2, 2022
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. French Hill (AR-02) released the following statement today after the State Department released their latest designations of “Countries of Particular Concern” (CPCs) under the International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA):
“For the second year in a row, the Biden Administration has neglected to include Nigeria from their latest designation of “Countries of Particular Concern” (CPCs) under the International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA). Over the last few decades, Christians in Nigeria have faced political and social oppression under the rule of the Nigerian government. I urge the U.S. Department of State to reconsider adding Nigeria to their list of CPCs and advocate on behalf of religious freedom internationally." |
