Washington, DC,
June 14, 2022
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Rep. French Hill (AR-02), Ranking Member of the Housing, Community Development, and Insurance Subcommittee on the House Financial Services Committee, introduced H.R. 8036, the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Extension Act of 2022. This bill extends the NFIP on a stand-alone basis to December 31, 2023. Without this extension, the NFIP will expire on September 30, 2022. “Congress must do the hard work of reforming the NFIP to ensure its long-term financial stability. Taxpayers in Arkansas and around the country should not have to bail out this broken program year after year to the tune of billions of dollars each year,” said Rep. Hill. “I thank Ranking Member McHenry for his support on this bill that offers consumers predictability through the end of 2023 while we work on a long-term solution and reform.” Rep. Patrick T.
