WASHINGTON D.C. —Today, Rep. French Hill (AR-02) voted with his Republican colleagues against H.R. 3884, the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act. This legislation would decriminalize marijuana by removing it from the Controlled Substances Act and eliminating criminal penalties for any person who manufactures, distributes, or possesses marijuana.
“Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which has significantly hurt American workers, families, and small businesses, Speaker Pelosi once again has put the wants of special interests against the needs of the American people,” said Rep. Hill. “Instead of working with House Republicans to finalize a COVID-19 relief deal and give states critical flexibility to spend unused CARES Act funds, the Speaker has brought to brought the House back to Washington to vote on a bill to fund recreational marijuana use and that is insulting.” |
