Bicentennial birthday bash
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette 11/08/2020 The Rose Law Firm celebrated its 200th birthday Nov. 1 by donating $200,000 to seven organizations. Rose Managing Partner Robyn Allmendinger announced the philanthropic effort at a news conference outside of the firm's downtown Little Rock headquarters. She was joined by dignitaries including Mayor Frank Scott Jr. and U.S. Rep. French Hill. The organizations that will benefit from the donation are Arkansas Access to Justice, the Center for Arkansas Legal Services, Legal Aid of Arkansas, the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville School of Law, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law, the Arkansas Bar Association and the Arkansas Arts Center. The law firm was founded on Nov. 1, 1820, by Robert Crittenden and Chester Ashley. It is the oldest law firm west of the Mississippi River and the former firm of Hillary Clinton -- a first lady of the United States and former U.S. Secretary of State. It also produced two chief justices of the Arkansas Supreme Court, one president of the American Bar Association, two U.S. senators as well as many other notable Arkansans. |
