Hill Recognized for Outstanding Support of Small Businesses

Rep. French Hill (AR-02) was named Guardian of Small Business by the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB). Specifically, NFIB highlighted Rep Hill's legislative work and strong voting record in support of key issues for small businesses.

"I thank the NFIB for its recognition of my strong record supporting policies to spur small business growth across Arkansas and the nation,"  said Rep. Hill. "As a life-long entrepreneur and 16 years of running a locally owned business in Arkansas, I know what our local job creators need and I am committed to helping them succeed. I appreciate the NFIB's work advocating on behalf of small businesses and the millions who are employed by them."

“The NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award is awarded to lawmakers who small businesses can truly count on,” said Kevin Kuhlman, NFIB Vice President of Federal Government Relations. “These Members of the U.S. House of Representatives are dedicated supporters of the key issues that our members are concerned about and have proven themselves to be real champions for small business. Our policy positions are driven by our members, and we report NFIB Key Votes back to our membership. We are proud to recognize Congressman French Hill for earning this distinction in the 116th Congress by taking pro-small business votes supporting financial assistance programs and tax relief and opposing new regulations and increased labor costs. Small business owners across the country need their support now more than ever during these unprecedented times, and we are grateful to Congressman Hill for his leadership.”

“Congressman Hill is one of the most effective leaders in Congress on all matters relating to business, particularly small and growing businesses," said Randy Zook, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and the Associated Industries of Arkansas. "His banking career prepared him well to understand the challenges this vital sector of our economy must deal with regarding government rules and regulations. We need him in Congress to help other members understand the impact of legislation on employment prospects and economic development opportunities.”

"It comes as no surprise that Congressman Hill has been chosen to receive the NIFB's Guardian of Small Business Award," said Wayne Miller, Executive Director of the Venture Center. "The community that works with and surrounds The Arkansas Venture Center has seen first hand the commitment and dedication that Congressman Hill continues to demonstrate through his concern and legislative efforts for the benefit of small businesses. Congressman Hill understands the critical role that these businesses play in our nation's economy and the results of his efforts, particularly at this difficult time for small businesses, are far-reaching. Congratulations Congressman Hill - well deserved! "

“I can’t think of a stronger guardian for entrepreneurs and small business owners than Congressman Hill, said Jeff Standridge, Managing Director of the Conductor. "He deeply understands the role entrepreneurs and small business owners play in contributing to our communities, generating intellectual property, and creating jobs. Not only does he understand that role, but he is also actively and continuously engaged with the business community to better understand how policy and legislation can help to remove barriers and catalyze growth.”
