WASHINGTON D.C. — Today, Rep. French Hill (AR-02), the Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on National Security, International Development and Monetary Policy of the House Financial Services Committee, released the following statement after President Trump's latest round of sanctions against the Iranian regime and its facilitators. 

“Through more than five years of expert witness testimony before the Financial Services Committee, I have seen first-hand Iran’s support of international terrorism and disregard for international law. President Trump was right to pull the United States out of the flawed Obama nuclear deal that rewarded a rogue and radical government with pallets of cash and only short delays of nuclear production and receiving conventional arms from America’s military antagonists like Russia and China. 

“We must continue to squeeze the Iranian mullahs as they attempt to acquire additional weapons to threaten our ally Israel and continue their support of Hezbollah terrorists. The mullahs are destroying their country on the backs of the Iranian people who have shown their longing for a government that respects the rule of law and supports its people over international terrorists. The American people and our government stand with the people of Iran.”
