U.S. Rep. French Hill (R-AR) joined a bipartisan contingent of colleagues in launching the House Entrepreneurship Caucus, which aims to spur the growth of new startup businesses across the United States.

“I’m pleased to partner with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle as co-chair of the Entrepreneurship Caucus to accomplish this goal,” Rep. Hill said on Oct. 2. “I look forward to promoting strategies and new policies that create an environment where entrepreneurs can thrive.”

Joining Rep. Hill as co-chairs of the caucus are U.S. Reps. Bill Foster (D-IL), Steve Chabot (R-OH), Stephanie Murphy (D-FL), David Schweikert (R-AZ), and Marc Veasey (D-TX).

“Entrepreneurship is the engine that drives our economy forward,” said Rep. Hill. “As an entrepreneur and job creator, I know how difficult it can be to get a business off the ground.”

The House Entrepreneurship Caucus will serve as a forum for policy work toward addressing issues facing America’s entrepreneurs, according to statements released by the lawmakers, and members will analyze new business formation trends to inform a strategy that grows the sector, creates jobs, and drives innovation.

“Having effective policies in place to encourage innovation can make all of the difference during the ‘startup slump’ that many entrepreneurs face during the first years of a new endeavor,” Rep. Hill said. “Supporting small business owners is a mission that should not be partisan.”

Formation of the caucus is supported by numerous groups, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Center for American Entrepreneurship, the Small Business Investor Alliance, the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council, the National League of Cities, and the Biotechnology Innovation Organization.
