Rep. Hill's Favorite George H.W. Bush Memory
By KARK Former President George H.W. Bush lies in state tonight at the nation's capitol. Today Arkansas congressman French Hill shared some of his fondest memories of the 41st President. Hill first met George H.W. Bush in 1979 and later served as part of President's Bush's economic team in the early 90's. His favorite memory came in the dark days after Bush lost his re-election campaign. Bush invited comedian Dana Carvey to the White House to do his famous impersonation of the president. "In walks Dana Carvey holding Misses Bush's hand going 'good to see ya good to see ya,'" says Rep. French Hill. "It was hilarious." Hill called it classic Bush, able to poke fun at himself and always trying to lift the spirit of others. |
