Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1732, the Regulatory Integrity Protection Act of 2015, by a vote of 261-155. The bill was introduced in response to the Administration’s proposed rule that would give the federal government expanded authority over land and water resources across the country. Following passage of the bill, Congressman French Hill (AR-02) released the below statement: “The ‘WOTUS’ rule is just another example of the Administration’s obsession with making drastic judgments without consultation with Congress, state and local governments, and other relevant stakeholders. Our states and local communities know best how to regulate and manage our natural resources. I have heard from numerous Arkansans who have expressed their concerns about this rule’s vast expansion of federal jurisdiction that could severely impact our local communities and economies. This essential bill seeks to restore Federalism and prevent this rule from furthering the uncertainty caused by excessive federal regulation in our states and communities.” ### |
