I take very seriously my duty to serve and support those who defend our nation, which is why I was pleased to support this year's defense bill prioritizing the safety of all Americans and our servicemembers and their families, especially at the Little Rock Air Force Base in central Arkansas.
House Republicans successfully increased the funding in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to ensure a 2.7% pay increase for all servicemembers, to hold the administration accountable for the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan to fund needed upgrades and expansions in our military equipment, and to counter our adversaries such as Iran, Russia, and China.
I was also pleased that two provisions I authored were included in this year's NDAA. The SAVE Act, which will diversify America's medical supply chain and make us less dependent on foreign manufacturers, and a provision to disrupt and dismantle the Assad regime's illicit narcotic production and trafficking in Syria.
