Inflation is out-of-control and prices continue to rise. I discussed this and several other issues affecting central Arkansans on Talk Business & Politics with Roby Brock this week. We also discussed my concerns with the rise in bomb threats at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), including here in central Arkansas, and my efforts to rename the post office in the Heights neighborhood after Ronald A. Robinson.

The national debt has reached $30 trillion – an all-time high, and unfortunately, a cost that is going to fall on the shoulders of taxpayers now and in the future.

Last week, I had the opportunity to meet with the Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S., Oskana Markarova, at the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, D.C. I expressed the support of the American people for Ukraine and reassured her she had an ally in the United States.

As a Congressional Representative to the 76th UN General Assembly, I have urged President Biden to be a leader within the UN and take the steps necessary to counter Russia’s aggression and ensure Ukraine’s autonomy. The letter I sent to President Biden can be read HERE. 

As Co-Chair of the Congressional Entrepreneurship Caucus, I was pleased to meet virtually with the Center for American Entrepreneurship. During this meeting, we discussed the adoption of technology by small businesses throughout the pandemic.

With the shutdowns directly impacting the ability for individuals to go out, small businesses were quickly forced to adapt to a virtual world. This included setting up virtual storefronts, utilizing digital payment methods, and communicating with prospective customers online.

While the world slowly resumes to pre-pandemic operations, we are still seeing the utilization of these technological platforms in everyday business. I enjoyed meeting with the Center for American Entrepreneurship, and I look forward to sharing their insights with small businesses across central Arkansas.

The select IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs) will now be open the second Saturday of each month for face-to-face help. These dates include:

• Saturday, February 12^th
• Saturday, March 12^th
• Saturday, April 9^th
• Saturday, May 14^th

Since becoming a member of Congress, one of my greatest personal rewards is the opportunity to serve and provide assistance to our central Arkansas veterans.
