Dear Friends,
The determination, perseverance, and the overall Arkansas way of coming to the aid of a neighbor has really stood out during this crisis as we begin to gradually reopen.
Last week, I visited the Think Idea Studio in Searcy, Arkansas, for a discussion with local Searcy Chamber of Commerce officials, downtown Searcy business stakeholders, and White County Judge Michael Lincoln. Together, we discussed the direct financial resources available to Arkansas families and businesses through the CARES Act, which I supported in March, as well as measures Arkansas has taken to carefully reopen the economy.
I was pleased to hear from Harding University President Bruce McLarty that, as a direct result of the CARES Act, the college was able to keep all of their employees on the payroll through the end of the fiscal year.
Last week, I also was honored to visit several businesses around White County, including Benjamin’s Barbershop, which kept its door open with help from the CARES Act’s Paycheck Protection Program.
These visits with our community and business leaders are critical as I represent you in the U.S. House and look for ways to fill the gaps. When small businesses, local leaders, and neighbors come together to help each other out, every Arkansan benefits. In the current public health and economic crisis, these efforts are especially important.
If I can assist you or answer any questions for you, please contact me at (501) 324-5941 or through my website at hill.house.gov. I look forward to hearing from you, and it’s an honor to represent you in Congress.
Sincerely,
Representative French Hill
