I have long supported individual rights and privacy – banking rules are no different.

Now, House Democrats' new policy proposal would require banks to tell the government every time Americans deposit or withdraw $600 or more – and to tell them where it’s going and who sent it.

Worse – their policy would provide that information to the IRS!

This is one of the worst intrusions into personal liberty and security that I have ever seen, and I won’t stand for it.  

I joined 141 of my colleagues to let Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi know that I am with the many central Arkansans who have contacted me and let me know that this policy has got to go, and here are just some of the reasons why:

• The IRS monitoring the personal finances of Americans is a threat to privacy and data security. 
• It would duplicate the reporting that banks are already required to do. 
• It could have the consequence of pushing households out of the banking system.
• If this passes, what’s next?
