Dear Friend,Last week, I joined Charles Payne on Fox Business to talk about why I don’t support the spending proposals.  Simply put – its excessive and not sustainable. Every year, it takes about $4.5 trillion to keep the government running. Since the start of the pandemic we have spent that plus another $6 trillion to fight the pandemic, keep the economy open, protect the public health, and protect jobs. Already this year, the Biden Administration has added $1.9 trillion to our annual spending and Congress continues to consider more untargeted and wasteful spending.I do not support this.  And neither do central Arkansans – several of you have been reaching out to me in regard to the wasteful spending and trillions of new taxes! For my full interview, click here or watch by clicking on the image below.

Dear Friend,

Last week, I joined Charles Payne on Fox Business to talk about why I don’t support the spending proposals.  Simply put – its excessive and not sustainable. Every year, it takes about $4.5 trillion to keep the government running. Since the start of the pandemic we have spent that plus another $6 trillion to fight the pandemic, keep the economy open, protect the public health, and protect jobs. Already this year, the Biden Administration has added $1.9 trillion to our annual spending and Congress continues to consider more untargeted and wasteful spending.

I do not support this.  And neither do central Arkansans – several of you have been reaching out to me in regard to the wasteful spending and trillions of new taxes!

NATIONAL RECOVERY MONTH

September was National Recovery Month and last week, I joined my colleagues to wear purple and show support for families in central Arkansas who face the struggles that come with substance abuse.

Addiction is a disease and with terrible consequences for our families.

Early last month, I introduced the Preventing Overdoses and Saving Lives Act. This bill will create a grant program to allow states and localities to conduct research on the opioid crisis, create a strategic plan on their response to the crisis, and implement co-prescribing in their jurisdiction.

Co-prescribing saves lives – every opioid prescription comes with an opioid reversal drug.  Having seen first-hand the success co-prescribing in Arkansas, I wanted to take that to the national level.

I know this bill will be a valuable tool in the fight against addiction and help pave the way towards recovery.

If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, help is available. Call the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357 or visit SAMHSA's website HERE.

LAST WEEK’S TELETOWNHALL

Last week, I had the chance to visit with several thousand central Arkansans during my telephone townhall.

During the townhall I spoke with you about House Democrats’ tax and spending spree, clarified concerns with provisions in the annual National Defense Authorization Act, and talked about how my team and I can help central Arkansas veterans.

We also heard from my friend and colleague Rep. August Pfluger, a Texan and an expert on the crisis on the southwest border.

For those who missed it, the townhall is available for viewing on my Facebook page. You can also watch it by clicking below.

PROTECTING YOUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS

I joined my colleagues in sending a letter to the chairmen and members of the House and Senate Armed Services Committees, urging the full removal of a provision in the House version of the National Defense Authorization Act during the conference committee process. This provision threatened the constitutional rights of our servicemembers and I do not support it. I will continue to support and defend our 2nd Amendment rights.
