Critical funding for Arkansas.
My top priority is the people of central Arkansas, and I am working to bring our economy and our citizens back to full health and to ensure we have the resources we need.
Since the start of the COVID-19 public health crisis, my staff has opened nearly 800 new cases to help central Arkansans with matters before the federal government – including the VA, the IRS, and the Social Security Administration.
I also have helped bring over $8 billion in much-needed funding to Arkansas, including:
- Keeping Arkansas small business afloat and Arkansans employed with more than $3.3 billion for nearly 43,000 Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans. I also voted to add an additional $310 billion to the PPP for a total of $660 billion.
- Providing direct payments to qualifying Arkansans of up to $1,200 per individual, $2,400 per couple, and $500 per child, totaling over $2.2 billion in Economic Impact Payments (EIP).
- Providing additional small businesses loans totaling nearly $1 billion from the Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program.
- Sending $1.25 billion to the State of Arkansas to support Arkansas’s economic recovery and provide additional health care and economic resources.
Responding to what I have heard from Arkansans over the past few months, I have introduced the following bills:
- HELP Act (H.R. 7746) to give Arkansas schools needed sanitization and technology resources.
- Emergency COVID-19 Telehealth Response Act (H.R. 6654) to give Arkansans – especially in rural areas – greater access to telehealth services to reduce risks for both patients and providers.
- SAVE Act (H.R. 6399) to decrease our dependency upon foreign nations for medical devices and life-saving pharmaceuticals.
- Immediate Funds Availability Act (H.R. 6306) to give Arkansans faster access to their own money.
- Touchless Transaction Act (H.R. 6241) for safer, contactless financial transactions.
I also have signed onto nearly five dozen letters, including:
- To the Vice President to ensure adequate materials for COVID-19 testing in Arkansas.
- To the IRS to make sure Arkansans are getting their Economic Impact Payments right now when they need them the most.
- To HHS and CMS to make sure that Arkansas’s first responders are getting reimbursed for their life-saving services.
These are just some of the ways I have been listening and working for you during these unprecedented times.
It’s my honor to serve central Arkansas in the U.S. House of Representatives, and I will continue to fight for you and your family and for the great State of Arkansas
