Dear Friends,
It is an honor to serve as your U.S. Representative in the 115th Congress. Because you have previously contacted my office to express your support for the protection of Second Amendment rights, I wanted to reach out to you today to let you know about steps being taken in the House to ensure the protection of those rights for all Arkansans and Americans.
As an avid hunter and sportsman, I support our Constitution and the Second Amendment. The right to bear arms is firmly established by our Constitution and has been reaffirmed by the courts on many occasions.
I am committed to upholding the Second Amendment rights of Americans, and I am a proud original cosponsor of H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, which was introduced by Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) and was passed by the House earlier this week. This bill would give reciprocity to those with concealed carry permits who are in other states that also issue concealed carry permits. It also allows those from constitutional carry states the ability to carry in other states that issue concealed carry permits. Additionally, this bill maintains states’ rights and provides important legal protections for law-abiding gun owners.
I am committed to the protection of Second Amendment rights for Arkansans and all Americans. I am hopeful that the Senate will consider this bill quickly so we can get it to the President’s desk for his signature and take an important step to ensure the protection of Second Amendment rights for law-abiding citizens.
Sincerely,
Representative French Hill |
