U.S. Congressman French Hill
Dear Friends,

Arkansas's Second Congressional District is home to Little Rock Air Force Base and Camp Robinson where thousands of service members and their families are serving at these critical military installations. On the front lines of our defense, our brave men and women in Arkansas and all throughout the country deserve the best we have to offer.

We have too many planes that cannot fly, too many ships that cannot sail, and too many soldiers that cannot deploy, all while threats are rapidly increasing.

This week, I was proud to support the authorization of our nation’s critical defense funding that boosts our military’s readiness, combats global terrorism, and gives military personnel a much-deserved 2.4 percent pay increase.

This bill also authorizes more than $200 million for modernization of the C-130 Hercules fleet, which is the backbone of our Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard airmen at Little Rock Air Force Base (LRAFB). LRAFB is the nation’s tactical airlift 'Center of Excellence,’ and this essential funding will guarantee these planes remain an essential part of our national security for years to come.

Additionally, the legislation has Pentagon reforms, which include: updating retirement programs, allowing the government to purchase off-the-shelf goods, and reforming contract auditing to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent more wisely.

Passing with bipartisan support, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) will fund our national security priorities.
Our military is the most effective military in the world, and our service members deserve the funding, tools, and support they need to successfully complete their strategic missions around the globe.

Sincerely,

Representative French Hill

Photos for the Week

These fine young men and women are learning incredible life skills through their Arkansas 4-H clubs, which helps them develop strong leadership skills and self-sufficiency.

What a great crew! The Black Family came to my D.C. office where they toured our nation's Capitol and stopped by my office to say "hi" and get some delicious Arkansas Riceland treats.

When I'm not in D.C., I'm working hard in the district, which means sometimes I miss Arkansas natives who stop by my office. My staff said they had a great time visiting with the Pember family and showing them around the Capitol.
