Dear Friends,

My top priority in Congress is bringing high-paying jobs to central Arkansas. I’m dedicated to fostering an environment where Main Street businesses can grow and prosper without being burdened with unnecessary red tape, higher taxes, and overregulation.

As a Little Rock business owner for two decades, I've seen how creating a pro-growth environment not only increases household wealth, it helps improve our local schools, lowers poverty, and spurs new innovation throughout central Arkansas.

Last Friday, we received great news from the Commerce Department that the U.S. economy in the first-quarter of 2019 grew at a stronger than expected rate of 3.2%. A solid increase in U.S. exports resulted in the best first-quarter GDP growth in the last six years.

This latest economic report proves that when we are focused on supporting job creators with free-market policies, we can build the strongest economy in the world.

This is the case in central Arkansas where our local economy continues to thrive. In the last two weeks, we've seen two major international companies choose central Arkansas as the home of their newest production factories. Keep reading below to learn about the new jobs coming to central Arkansas.

Sincerely,
Representative French Hill

Sig Sauer and CZ-USA:
bringing jobs to central arkansas
Earlier this month, I was proud to join Governor Asa Hutchinson in welcoming Sig Sauer to Jacksonville, Arkansas where they are expanding their manufacturing and using Arkansas-based supplies to support their business. Since expanding to Arkansas, Sig Sauer has brought more jobs to our state economy and has much more potential for growth. When it first opened in 2016, the Sig Sauer Arkansas facility employed 50 people, today that number has more than tripled to 160. This means more central Arkansas families have high-paying jobs to support our local community.

Sig Sauer is providing our soldiers in the field and across all branches of America's Armed Forces with the M17 and M18 pistol, the official pistol of the U.S. Military. The new 70,000 square-foot facility houses an advanced ballistics testing lab and leading-edge industrial measuring technology.

Last Tuesday, CZ-USA, the U.S.-based affiliate of a Czech firearms manufacturer, announced plans to build a manufacturing facility in Little Rock, Arkansas. The location will serve as its new North American headquarters for CZ-USA, creating nearly 600 new jobs and investing $90 million into the central Arkansas economy.

I joined CZ-USA leadership at the Arkansas state Capitol to welcome this new business to the Natural State. The decision by CZ-USA to choose Little Rock as its new home shows that we are putting Arkansas on the map as a place where companies from around the world want to do business. UACCM Workforce training center
Effective training and job opportunities for Arkansas students

America's career and technical education schools provide many students with the skills and training necessary to obtain high-skill, high-wage employment in the United States. In Arkansas, we have tremendous career and technical education schools and many dedicated teachers and students who rely on these resources to help fill in-demand jobs in our local communities.

I recently visited the new Workforce Training Center (WTC) at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. Completed in 2018, the 53,000 square foot building is the largest construction project in UACCM history. The WTC offers training in high-demand jobs in the areas of HVAC, welding, automotive service technology, refrigeration, and industrial mechanics and maintenance. This facility is helping to close the skilled workforce gap with the support of local school districts and private companies from across central Arkansas.

Local food for thought
Independent grocers creating jobs for Arkansans
I recently stopped by the Edwards Food Giant in Bryant, Arkansas to learn about the day-to-day challenges that face the independent sector of the supermarket industry. In Arkansas, independent supermarket operators, like Edwards Food Giant, are responsible for creating nearly 10,000 jobs and $254 million in wages paid.
