Dear Friends,

Don’t miss TODAY’s deadline.

I am honored to co-chair this year’s Congressional App Challenge with Rep. Susan DelBene (D-WA).

The annual Congressional App Challenge gives high school students across the nation the opportunity to design and promote apps they have created to address everyday problems.

The competition is open to all high school students, and students can apply either as an individual or as part of a team. To apply, click HERE.

The deadline for submission is TODAY Monday, October 19, 2020, at 11:00AM CT.

The Congressional App Challenge has inspired students across central Arkansas to embrace their creativity and innovation and to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in the STEM fields.

Central Arkansas has been well-represented over the past five years. In all, more than 60 students from central Arkansas have submitted over 60 apps in the Second Congressional District competition.

All winners will have their #HouseofCode apps displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., and will be featured on the U.S. House of Representatives’ website.

The apps can be made for the students’ preferred platform (mobile, tablet, computer, etc). The entries will be judged by a panel of academics, software professionals, and entrepreneurs. All participants must submit a video explanation of what their app does or will do.

If you are interested in participating or would like more information about the competition, please contact Anna Reckling in my Little Rock office by phone at (501) 324-5941 or by email at anna.reckling@mail.house.gov. There is no coding experience required, so all are encouraged to apply!
