Dear Friends,
Since you have previously contacted my office to express your support for pro-life legislation in Congress, I wanted to reach out to provide you with an update on the important work we are doing in the House to protect and support the lives of unborn children in the United States.
Last week, I joined my colleagues in passing a crucially important pro-life measure in the House: H.R. 36, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would prevent abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.
As you may know, this bill was inspired in part by the incredible story of Micah Pickering, the now-healthy kindergartener who was born at just 22 weeks – two weeks earlier than the traditionally cited age of viability.
I continue to engage with pro-life leaders in Arkansas on this important issue and will continue working with pro-life organizations to support legislative solutions that prevent funding for the abhorrent practices against unborn children. We have a moral obligation to protect every life, no matter how small, and I remain committed to this fight. I urge the Senate to act swiftly to pass this bill so that they may be signed into law by the President.
Sincerely,
Representative French Hill
