As we cheer on our fellow Americans competing in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, we cannot afford to forget the sins of the games’ host nation, China.

Last week I spoke out on the House Floor, demanding accountability for the Chinese government’s censorship of media and oppression of religious freedoms for its citizens.

Last week, I toured Immerse Arkansas’s new facility which will provide foster youth a place of stability and support.

Immerse Arkansas’s mission is to transform youth from crisis into “overcomers.” This new facility will provide more opportunities and resources to help youth in central Arkansas. I am looking forward to the significant impact this facility will have in our community.

Last week, the Conway Chamber of Commerce and other local business leaders visited me in Washington. Together, we discussed issues facing the city, including the impact of inflation and the labor shortage are having on our local businesses.

We also discussed how community leaders are currently working together to propel Conway forward and what I can do to help. With several projects underway and continued growth within the city, I am looking forward to seeing Conway's expansion over the next several years!

As your representative in Congress, one of my goals is ensuring continued support to our schools to develop more STEM opportunities for our students. Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting with the Engineering Deans from colleges across Arkansas, including Dr. Lawrence Whitman, Dean of the Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Together, we discussed STEM education and upcoming research initiatives, as well as the colleges’ individual engineering initiatives. I look forward to working alongside these leaders to continue providing Arkansas students with the greatest opportunities in education.

Last week, I met with Darrell Hartwick, President & CEO of the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, and his team.

We discussed the expansion of local businesses, future investments within our community, and developing outreach programs throughout the city. I am pleased to see the continued success of North Little Rock and I am excited to follow Darrell and his team as they explore further growth and job opportunities in North Little Rock.

As the tax season has started, I encourage everyone to file their taxes as early as possible – this year, taxes are due April 18. As per the IRS, filing online and providing direct deposit information will speed up processing your return and help in getting your refund back to you faster, if eligible.
