Dear Friend,

I strongly encourage all Arkansans who are not currently vaccinated against COVID-19 to consult with their doctor about getting vaccinated. According to experts, those that are fully vaccinated are much less likely to get infected with COVID-19 and the small percentage of those that become infected after receiving a vaccine have experienced milder cases of COVID.

The most effective way to combat the spread of COVID-19 is by getting vaccinated.

Since January 1, 2021,

  • 96.39% of COVID-19 cases in Arkansas have been individuals not fully vaccinated
  • 95.35% of Arkansans hospitalized for COVID-19 have not been fully vaccinated
  • 97.4% of COVID-19 deaths have been those not fully vaccinated

The Pfizer vaccine is available to Arkansans ages 12 and up, and the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are approved for adults over 18, all at no cost to you.

Call 1-800-985-6030 for more information on the vaccines or visit the Arkansas Department of Health website for more information on where to get a vaccine and talk with your physician to determine the right approach for receiving a vaccine.

EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE FINDER

As millions of Americans face the threat of foreclosure or eviction due to the impacts of COVID-19, here are some resources that may be helpful to you.

Rental assistance is available to households across the state who have faced hardships during the pandemic and need support paying their rent, to keep their family in their home.

Renters and landlords: Rental Assistance Finder

Renters and homeowners: CFPB housing resources

See more resources HERE.

As a co-sponsor of the Renter Protection Act, I am working in Washington to fix the Biden Administration’s mismanagement of these programs and get money out the door and into the hands of Arkansans who need it most, as quickly as possible.

ARKANSAN WINS SILVER IN TOKYO

Wooster native Kayle Browning won a silver medal in the Women’s Trap shooting event. Congratulations, Kayle!

Kayle was the sole representative from Arkansas on Team USA. Her performance in Tokyo made central Arkansas proud.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kayle on a visit to her shooting lodge, Cypress Creek, in June. Her passion for the outdoors, and her commitment to her work was evident in our conversation.

Congrats Kayle, and good luck in the future!

BIPARTISAN INFRASTRUCTURE PACKAGE

Senate Democrats and Republicans have worked with President Biden on a bipartisan infrastructure bill, BUT Speaker Pelosi has already indicated that she will not let the House consider the agreement until Democrats pass their $3.5 trillion massive spending bill filled with progressive priorities.

I, along with the American people, would like to see a well-drafted, bipartisan compromise, paid-for surface transportation and broadband bill considered by both Houses of Congress.

NEED A PASSPORT? MY OFFICE MAY BE ABLE TO HELP

Since January, my office has helped over 100 families expedite their passports, and is currently helping 50 more and counting.

If you need passport assistance, please reach out to my office at (501) 324-5941. Passport info can be found at: travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.
