Dear Friend,

There’s no question why Arkansas is called the “Natural State” – for the beauty and bounty of our outdoor recreation.

As a ninth-generation Arkansan and lifelong conservationist, I am proud that my efforts over the past six years have led to a new outdoor recreation opportunity right here in central Arkansas at the Lake Sylvia Recreation Area.

By bringing together state and local leaders, I was able to see the Lake Sylvia Recreation Area as well as the Camp Ouachita historic site and cabins brought into the state park system and to the benefit of Perry County and all Arkansans.

Do you plan to visit Lake Sylvia or any of Arkansas's outdoor recreational sites this summer?

The Lake Sylvia project is an example of the good that comes from the federal, state, and local government working together, and I was proud to have played a critical role.
