Dear Friends,

Yesterday, I visited Tokusen USA’s Conway manufacturing facility. Tokusen USA is family-owned and has been operating in Arkansas for over 30 years. They manufacture steel cord that is used to make 20 million tires each year.

Because of a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan from Centennial Bank, Tokusen USA was able to preserve over 300 central Arkansas jobs during this difficult time - a real PPP success story.

Thank you to Charles Smith and Alex Kotani for hosting me and showing me how Tokusen USA has adapted its operations to meet the demands of this unprecedented time.

I am committed to ensuring Arkansas businesses like Tokusen USA can weather the crisis caused by COVID-19, and I was proud to support this lifeline to businesses across Arkansas by, in May, voting in favor of over $600 billion for the Paycheck Protection Program.

Since the PPP loan program has been implemented, Arkansas businesses have received nearly 41,900 loans totaling over $3.28 billion dollars. That means thousands of Arkansas jobs preserved.

As outlined in the application, to apply for forgiveness of a PPP loan, the borrower must complete the application as directed in the instructions and submit it to their lender. Borrowers may also complete the application electronically through their lender.

Please contact your lender or my office as you have questions about the loan forgiveness application.

Preserving the history of our veterans

Veterans History Project Continues, Remembering our Heroes

If you are a veteran, or you know a veteran who would like to share their personal story, please reach out to Dlayne Tucciarone of my team at ‪(501) 324-5941.

We must ensure the tremendous service and sacrifice that our veterans made for our country and our freedom is honored and remembered. The Veterans History Project undertakes this important task by collecting and submitting to the Library of Congress the personal accounts of our nation’s heroes so that future generations can hear directly from veterans and better understand their service to our nation. ‬

Visting Dillard's Fulfillment center

Adapting to Change after COVID-19

Yesterday, I visited Dillard's Fulfillment Center in Maumelle, Arkansas. My hosts were Bill Dillard III (Senior Vice President), Tony Bolte (Vice President), Marty Martin (Fulfillment Manager), and Tony Arnold (Manager), and we were joined by Arkansas State Representative Mark Lowery and Arkansas State Senator Jane English.

In addition to learning about how the nationally known Arkansas retailer has managed to continue meeting customer needs despite the ongoing public health and economic crisis, I had the opportunity to visit with Dillard’s staff to hear directly from them about how they and their families are doing in this time of uncertainty.

I was encouraged by the resilience of Arkansans and the pride of these Arkansans filling a need nationally.

It is my honor to represent you in Congress. Please contact me at (501) 324-5941 or Hill.House.Gov if I may be of service to you.

Sincerely,
Representative French Hill
