Rep. French Hill (AR-02) issued the following statement on the bombings in Kabul, Afghanistan:
“The attacks outside the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul were cowardly and heinous and I pray for families of the service members who tragically lost their lives and those injured.
“I left a bipartisan, classified briefing in April skeptical of the Biden Administration’s plan, and in the subsequent briefings to Congress since, my concerns have only grown. Today, our worst fears have been realized. The tragic events in Kabul further demonstrate the complete tactical and strategic incompetence of the Biden Administration.
“My team and I have been working around the clock to help nearly 300 hundred individuals in Afghanistan reach safety, including those connected to Arkansas’s Fulbright program and former military service members working to get the Afghan civilians who served alongside them on the battlefield to safety. My team will continue to work to ensure that those who are in need have resources available to them. Our men and women in uniform and those in harm’s way deserve nothing less.”
