| WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Wednesday, January 22, 2019, at 2:00 PM CT Congressman French Hill (AR-02) will host a Community Bank Roundtable at the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce. Rep. Hill has invited Kathy Kraninger, the Director of the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB), to be a featured speaker at the event. The roundtable will discuss issues currently facing the Arkansas banking community. ***This event is open to the press.*** More: The CFPB regulates financial institutions that are providing products like credit cards, mortgages and loans, etc., to Americans. They ensure that consumers understand the fine print that explains the risks involved in using these services, and the banks, credit unions, and other financial companies that provide them comply with current law. Kathleen Kraninger is the Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
