Rep. Hill to Speak at Clinton School of Public Service on Security and Economic Issues in North Asia
WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Friday September 6, 2019, the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service will feature Congressman French Hill (AR-02) in a discussion on security and economic issues facing North Asia. Congressman Hill will be joined by Congressman Mark Takano (D-CA), and Mansfield Foundation President and CEO Frank Jannuzi.

The discussion will include the latest developments on nuclear negotiations with North Korea, the trilateral economic and security relationship with Japan and South Korea, and hybrid security-economic issues with China.

Background: 

Congressman Hill is a member of the USMCA Republican House Whip Team and has extensive international experience working on trade. In 1989, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Corporate Finance, where one of his key assignments was representing the United States as a negotiator in the historic bilateral talks with Japan known as the Structural Impediments Initiative (SII). Additionally, Congressman serves on the Japan-United States Friendship Commission, an independent federal government agency established by Congress in 1975.

Congressman Takano represents the people of Riverside, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley, and Perris in the United States House of Representatives. He serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, and as a member of the Education and Labor Committee.

Frank Jannuzi joined the Mansfield Foundation as President and Chief Executive Officer in April 2014. He previously served as Deputy Executive Director (Advocacy, Policy and Research) at Amnesty International, USA.
